Jim Coleman
Owner, Web Designer & Developer
Jim started his career in 1997 as a self taught web designer building web sites for friends in the infancy of the commercial internet. In 1998, Jim and Nikki formed Tidal Web with the goal of helping small and medium sized businesses in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia be successful online. After 4 years of working independently, Jim joined Automark in 2001 as a Web Designer. Automark provided car dealers across the USA and Europe with web sites that intregrated with Content Management Systems and their local inventory management systems. In 2002, Reynolds & Reynolds completed their buyout of Automark renaming it Reynolds Web Solutions (RWS). Jim designed web site themes for automotive dealers and manufacturers, provided them with support and eventually became a founding member of the theme development team.
After 5 1/2 years, Jim left RWS to be the sole Web Designer for multichannel market Lillian Vernon. The catalog company has been a staple in american homes for over 50 years. During his time with Lillian Vernon, Jim was responsible for all of the graphic design of www.lillianvernon.com as well as it;s sister properties www.lillyskids.com and www.buildastocking.com.
After the economic downturn caused Lillian Vernon to downsize their operations, Jim became the Webmaster for Sccupe Marketing. Sccupe Marketing is responsible for the marketing efforts of apparel decorating titans SWF East and Pantograms Manufacturing as well as several other apparel related web properties.
In 2009, Jim switched gears and became the Online Marketing Manager for 15 higher education trade schools. In this role Jim handles all web design and development, online marketing and ad placement as well as SEO and link building efforts for the schools.
Jim has continued to grow Tidal Web and build it's reputation as the leader in afforable web solutions for small and medium sized business with an emphasis on e-commerce. Jim handles the graphic design and development for Tidal Web as well as it's overall operations.
Jim enjoys technology and everything Apple. He also loves spending time with his pets and laying around the pool.
Nikki Dawn
Owner, Online Marketing Director & Content Specialist
Nicole began her career in web development after obtaining her “Internet Specialist” associates degree. Nicole helped form Tidal Web in 1998 and even came up with the name! In August, 2001 she joined Reynolds Web Solutions as a web designer. While at RWS, Nikki worked with major clients such as Enterprise as well as supported hundreds of other automotive dealers throughout the USA and Europe. She also pioneered the search engine optimization and online marketing effort at RWS by helping clients to write more keyword rich, compelling content.
Nicole continued to work with Reynolds as a Senior Web Designer until March of 2007 when she joined Vista Graphics, Inc as their Web Developer. She was responsible for maintaining the company’s core websites such as Hampton Roads Magazine, Visitors Guide Network and Virginia Wine Lovers. Nicole also helped lead the creation of the company’s web services division responsible for creating web sites for Vistors Guide customers. Nicole also developed online marketing strategies to help clients achieve top organic search engine placement.
After moving to the Tampa Bay area of Florida, Nicole went to work for MPRI, a government contractor and division of L3 Communications, as a Web Developer. Nicole worked on multi-lingual websites to support the Trans Regional Web Initiative. Nicole integrated JQuery, PHP functions, Blueprint CSS and XML feeds into the dynamic sites that MPRI was responsible for.
After the MPRI contract expired with the US Government, Nikki joined Sccupe Marketing, taking up where Jim had left off a year prior. She handles all of the web development, web design and functionality for the Marketing department’s collection of standard and e-commerce web sites.
Nikki is an animal lover that enjoys playing video games such as World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy in her spare time as well as hanging out at the beach.
